Delisting

Under the Endangered Species Act, species in danger of extinction was protected – in theory. What happens when this law is taken advantage of in order for the government to gain access to private lands? Or, when species are no longer endangered and remain on the list?

There is significant economic harm done to landowners who must give up their rights to the land they own in order for the government as well as tremendous destruction to habitat who are effected by the government policies.

How Do We Stop This?

In order to get a species removed from the list and the restrictions lifted, a formal delisting petition must be signed and perusing court action if necessary. The U.S Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) will then be responsible for the removing the species from the list.

We are leading the movement to remove species that do not warrant protection from the Federal Endangered List.
